June is a very special month for me. Each year I get to spend my birthday in a completely different, yet completely familiar place. I get to spend my birthday in the isolation of the hospital where I have been receiving treatment for years. Each year I am returned to the world from where I came, and this is the only world where I have been able to feel normal.

The world of June has helped me endure a life of pain and sadness. As you can probably guess, this world makes me anxious and uncomfortable. Every time that I am thrust into June’s reality, my heart pounds heavily and my head pounds louder than before.
